This is my final web page. I wanted to incorporate the element of the book for the chapter headline in the banner, as well as the pull quotes. I put the background image of movable type. I'm still using the serif typeface.

This is my final web page. I wanted to incorporate the element of the book for the chapter headline in the banner, as well as the pull quotes. I put the background image of movable type. I'm still using the serif typeface.

Looks very good. The banner looks a bit odd with the photo below and the white on the sides. Maybe a background color for the page (what would be visible on the sides)?
ReplyDeleteThe images might benefit from a slightly lighter background as would the body text. A little more contrast? Borders for the images?
The pull quote is a nice touch, especially over the photo, but is a little hard to read. A little larger? Background photo a little darker?
To keep with the "early type" feel, is there a way to incorporate other typographic elements? Horizontal rules as separators? Are there any typographic styles that you can pull from your book?
Note that the poster is feeling a bit out of place compared to the book and the site. Could you pull some of that more expressive type treatment into the site?
