Close to final poster...ha.

So, I decided to use more color and incorporate cyan as the railroad tracks and "tunnel" so to speak. I used more texture and had a separate more legible paragraph that is informative, displaying connection between the modernization of the printing press and steam engine. I added more boxcars and scaled the train to a larger size.

  1. Nice work.

How big is the descriptive type on the right? Might be a little smaller and more compact? Dunno, but might be worth trying and assessing.

If you have the time, I would explore more possibilities with the bands of blue text and the placement of the other elements. A small variety of column widths? Different scales/sizes of type? Different fonts (typical of era)? Different placement and orientation of title and descriptive text block.

    etc.

Smaller but longer train? Length of train cars as a graphic element? Border, divider, etc.

Sorry, that's a lot of stuff for the 11th hour, but there are a seemingly infinite number of possibilities, places to explore, with this current design concept. That's a good thing, but maybe too much at this time. If you're heading off to print, maybe just try a couple of minor things quickly, and if something strikes you as "WOW" then go for it, otherwise, just go over the details and make sure everything is in order, no typos, etc. and take it to the printer.
