I didn't think it was clear enough that this was an ad for the book, not a cover turned into a poster, so I added "In Stores May 19, 2009. I'm going to change the 75th anniversary to 80th Anniversary because that is closer to the actual anniversary for the publication. Also, not sure about the circle. I used it to highlight the title and also balance the cropped photo, but it doesn't seem quite as integrated into the design as before. Maybe I've been staring at the poster too much and need some fresh eyes.

Yes, absolutely. Working on a design for hours on end can make your eyes (brain really) tired and stale and make it impossible to look at the work critically. Take a break. Do something else. Something relaxing and fun, if possible.
ReplyDeleteCome back to it later, preferably when you want to return to it, although schedules don't always allow such a luxury.
This version seems awfully close to the book cover. Can you find a middle ground between the previous poster version and this? The book release is a good idea.
