The cover is definitely very Tschichold. I would explore the options created by adjusting the spacing of the elements. Try for a greater contrast and variation in the spacing between elements. Grouping. Another color for accent? Is there a color in your design that would work as a complimentary or accent color?
Also watch the leading - it optically looks a little uneven between 'Story' and 'of'.
Also, you should post just the view of the front cover, not the whole cover spread open. We can't view and assess the relationship to the left edge otherwise.
