The first has a great background. The currency patterns are really strong, but are overpowered by the black € characters. White € might be more interesting as they would be knockouts and play with the figure/ground, positive/negative space.
The second is kind of funny, but only kind of. Mostly I don't get it. You definitely need more info here for the viewer. I would try different background patterns for this. The rainbow and crossing curve patterns, seen in #1, are more compelling than the one here. This pattern almost feels more like a Scottish tartan than currency. Maybe try and break up the space, i.e. the face doesn't fill the whole page?
The third suffers from a fatal case of live-trace. Some of them are quite nice, like the sunflower and the dutch dude with the hat just below it to the right. You could explore the integration of the currency patterns of the first in the grid structure here.
I think the title phrase of #3 is best. The theater of it being a book is good too.
